Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants (CBC), a Westchester and Manhattan-based leading clinical and wellness center, and Fusion Academy Westchester recently joined forces to present a special screening of LIKE, a documentary exploring the impact of social media on our lives. The event, which was free, was held on March 5th at Cognitive Behavioral Consultants, in White Plains, New York and was followed by a panel Q&A session led by CBC co-founders Dr. Lata McGinn and Dr. Alec Miller. After the screening, John Bailey of People to Be Heard, interviewed Dr. McGinn and Dr. Miller for a future broadcast.
LIKE is an IndieFlix Original documentary that explores the impact of social media on people’s lives. Technology is a tool. It’s here to stay. And while social platforms are a place to connect, share and care, what’s really happening? Are we addicted? How do we stop? Where do we start? By understanding the effects of technology and social media on the brain, our lives and on civilization, we can learn how to navigate it more safely together. The film’s goal is to inspire people of all ages, especially kids, to learn how to self-regulate. It’s not about blame. It’s about looking in the mirror and empowering ourselves to create balance in our lives and learn to be there for each other.
LIKE is an important movie for all of us to view. It helps shine a spotlight on the ways in which technology and social media impact our brains, our emotions, and our relationships,” stated Dr. Lata McGinn, Co-Founder of CBC. The trailer can be seen here https://www.thelikemovie.com/trailer/
