Parents and educators from across Westchester watched the movie Angst last week in the Schwartzburg Training Center at Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants. The movie screening was a collaboration between Fusion Academy and CBC. Angst is a documentary that sheds light on the reasons many teens suffer from anxiety and depression. Experts in the movie also addressed ways in which parents can help reduce that stress as well as techniques that teens and adults can use to help themselves to reduce the level of anxiety they may be experiencing. Perhaps one of the most helpful tips from one of the students in the movie was “It’s not healthy to keep it in. Speak with someone.” And on the flip side, be a good listener. This is the second community movie night hosted by CBC and Fusion and future ones will be scheduled.
