At CBC’s Clinical and Wellness Centers we are committed to providing compassionate evidence – based treatment programs to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, lifestyle management and personal development issues.
Our therapists practice leading edge treatments based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), with our primary goal to create positive and enduring change for all of our clients.
CBC is excited to introduce The Secret Agent Society Group a social skills group program for children 8 to 12 years who experience difficulty managing social interactions, making friends and regulating their emotions. This is particularly suitable for children diagnosed with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and social anxiety disorder. The Secret Agent Society is a 10-session group program to help children improve social skills and emotional understanding and is offered at our White Plains Office.
There is also a parent group component to the program that will help teach parents how to support their children’s social success and better manage behavior. This is a great opportunity to help children be more successful managing various social situations in their daily lives.
The Secret Agent Society is an innovative evidence-based group program that combines educational and engaging activities to help children increase their social success through learning social skills and emotion regulation techniques. Information is taught through a variety of modalities, including a multi-level computer game, interactive in-session activities and a comprehensive board game. As part of the group, children will learn strategies to increase their ability to identify emotions, regulate emotions, how to make and keep friends, manage bullying, handle new situations and how to ask for help from others.
Parents will learn how to help coach their children on using their new skills, facilitate school involvement with the program and learn strategies to better manage behavior in the home
