The CBC Institute of Professionals is proud to partner with the Columbia University School of Social Work DBT Training Program and Lab to offer the only DBT Training Program for Social Workers in the nation to host Advanced Clinical Practice Social Work Interns.

At CBC all interns will provide individual DBT therapy to adults and adolescents, facilitate DBT Skills Groups for adults and Multi-Family Skills Training Groups with adolescents and their caregivers, and are available to clients and caregivers for intersession phone skills coaching, with adjunctive family meetings and parenting sessions conducted as needed.

Interns are also active participants in CBC’s weekly DBT Consultation Team meeting, with co-founder Alec Miller, PsyD, as the Team Leader.  Additionally, interns receive intensive DBT training through Behavioral Tech, LLC, and a 5 day CBT Foundational Training developed by co-founder Lata McGinn, PhD.

Interns work collaboratively with and are supervised by clinicians who are intensively DBT trained and highly experienced in providing comprehensive DBT to fidelity.

Other learning opportunities for interns at CBC include participating in quarterly case conferences and attending a didactic series that includes nationally and internationally renowned speakers within the DBT and CBT communities.

This is a yearly program that begins end of August.
