Cognitive and Behavioral Consultants (CBC) invites applications for a one year clinical postdoctoral fellowship beginning August 30, 2021. CBC is an evidence-based clinical and training center founded in 2004 by Drs. Lata McGinn and Alec Miller, and is comprised of a select group of highly skilled clinicians, educators, and researchers who specialize in CBT and DBT. We offer a collegial and intellectually stimulating environment and an outstanding opportunity to receive training and supervision in comprehensive CBT and DBT for a broad range of disorders with children, adolescents, and adults, and experience working with individual clients, groups, couples, and families. We also offer specialized training with certified trainers in many evidence-based treatments including but not limited to Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), intensive OCD treatment, social anxiety group treatment, executive functioning coaching, and an intensive DBT program (SAGE) to meet the needs of young adults who require a higher level of care, and more.
Post doctoral fellows conduct individual, couples, family, and group therapy, and co-lead one or more CBT groups and/or DBT skills training groups with highly trained therapists/supervisors. This comprehensive training experience includes a 5-day CBT foundational and a 5-day DBT foundational training at our Schwartzberg Training Center, several hours of individual and group supervision per week, joining our DBT consultation team (DBT - LInehan Board of Certification - Certified Program), monthly CBT consultation team, didactic seminars on CBT and DBT, disorder-specific case conferences, and a lecture series in which nationally and internationally renowned speakers are invited. Fellows also supervise predoctoral psychology students, and receive supervision and training as supervisors. Fellows may also have the opportunity to present at local agencies and may have the opportunity to observe school consultation and trainings provided by CBC trainers at local schools and agencies in the region. CBC has many ongoing research and data collection projects and interested fellows are invited to participate in these endeavors.
