Social Anxiety ~ Middle School Group

At CBC’s Clinical and Wellness Centers we are committed to providing compassionate evidence – based treatment programs to address a wide range of emotional, behavioral, lifestyle management and personal development issues.

Our therapists practice leading edge treatments based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), with our primary goal to create positive and enduring change for all of our clients.

The Middle School Social Anxiety Group

To complement individual therapy or act as a stand-alone treatment, CBC offers social anxiety group treatment. The group setting provides a unique opportunity to gain exposure to social situations that elicit anxiety and practice newly acquired skills in vivo, with coaching and feedback from skilled clinicians and supportive peers.  All groups are offered in our White Plains location.

Our Middle School Social Anxiety Group is appropriate for children either entering or currently in middle school. The group will be helpful for children who would like to decrease their social anxiety, improve their social skills and relationships, as well as enjoy social situations more, which in turn will boost their confidence. The group will be composed of approximately 16 weekly group sessions in which participants will learn about their fears, receive social skills training, and gain exposure to feared social situations with the support of their peers and therapists.

Check our calendar for upcoming classes.
