Trauma and PTSD Training Series

CBC Trauma training teaches CBT approaches for treating trauma and PTSD symptoms, including Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT for children and adolescents.

These treatments are considered the “gold standard” for PTSD as recommended by the National Center for PTSD, the American Psychological Association (APA), and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS).

This training will provide an understanding of PTSD symptoms and its assessment, a CBT framework for the conceptualization of difficulties arising post-trauma, risk factors for who is more likely to post-traumatic reactions, a description and experiential learning of various cognitive and behavioral treatment strategies used with trauma survivors, and an understanding of how these interventions are adapted for specialized populations such as children, individuals with complex trauma, and with high emotion dysregulation difficulties.

An emphasis will be placed on CBT case formulation-based treatment planning through an understanding of the mechanisms of action shown to elicit meaningful changes in this population.
